The Temple

The temple is a special and sacred place for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In the temple, couples are sealed for this time on earth, as well as for all eternity, and not just until death do they part. Many of Ben and Jenny's closest family members and friends will be with them in the temple as they are sealed for time and all eternity. Ben and Jenny look forward to this special and sacred occasion, and invite you to celebrate their wedding at their reception in Rexburg, Idaho or in Lawrenceville, Georgia! If you would like to know more about temples, please ask Ben or Jenny, or visit this link:

How Ben and Jenny Got Engaged

One of the ways Jenny and Ben got to know each other was by going to the Idaho Falls Temple each weekend with friends or just with each other. In February, Jenny and Ben went to the newly dedicated Rexburg Temple. Jenny had finished and was looking for Ben, but he was nowhere to be found. Instead, Jenny was given a note from Ben by a lady at the front desk. That note held a clue, in the form of a poem, which led her to a place in the nearby Hinckley Building on campus where a similar note was hidden. That clue led her to another clue, which led her to another clue - all of them in poetic form - until Jenny finally arrived at Ben's apartment. There were a dozen roses, a note from Ben, and a set of car keys. Her instructions were to meet him at the park where they had ridden a tandem bike together on their first date. She met him there, where he expressed his love for her and knelt on one knee to ask her to be his wife. She said yes! Jenny found out later that the "scavenger hunt" was planned and executed by Ben and his two friends, Luke and Bobbie, who got the entire thing - even the proposal - on video.

How Ben and Jenny Met

Luke, Ben’s best friend and cousin, decided that Facebook would be a great way for Ben to meet cute girls. He created a Facebook profile for Ben, making sure that Ben would appear very attractive, and added almost 200 girls as Ben’s friends. Ben was bombarded with messages from cute girls. One of these was the very wary Jenny Jenkins, wanting to know why in the world Ben was requesting to be her Facebook friend. Ben sent her a couple of flirty messages (kind of as a joke, although he did think she was cute), and Jenny decided she had no interest in meeting Ben in person, even when he invited her to play soccer with all of his friends. A few months later, Jenny and Ben bumped into each other at a school dance, and Ben recognized her from her Facebook picture. It was an awkward meeting, but Ben succeeded in getting Jenny’s number. Although she gave him her number, she was sure that he would not call her. Besides, she was going back to Georgia for seven weeks anyway. Well, Ben surprised Jenny by calling her on her birthday and several times during her stay back in Georgia. And being the gentleman that he is, Ben arranged to meet Jenny when she came back to Rexburg and help her with her luggage. The rest is history.
